Close but not quite the whole story. Look closer at the bottom part of the pic.

Okay, I'll give it up.

My A-Team was doing "Delta Queen" operations (early 1990s).

We land the MH-47 Chinook in the water (Arkansas River in this case) and flood the cabin with 3-5 inches of water. The team drives into the chopper on a Zodiac F-470 Rubber boat.:crazy_pilot:

On this particular night I was standing forward in the aircraft as part of my team in the boat approached. The chopper went too deep into the river, sucked water into the air intakes and lost an engine. :cray:

With the cabin filled chest high in water and the chopper losing one engine (it has 2) the chopper ALMOST went down. The boat didn't know all this was happening and still tried to make it's way inside (and subsequently got smashed). :(

Luckily noone was killed or seriously injuried. The guys in the boat almost got chopped up by the rear blades and then got sat on by the roof of the chopper.

I snapped off the photo and started looking for an exit window to swim for the surface if the sucker went under (fortunately it didn't).:victory:

When the pilot finally got her pulled up and out of there, the boat and all of the guys were unceremoniously dumped back into the dark river from about 20 feet up.
