What the heck? "A sailor accidentally fires off 3 rounds while cleaning the machine gun?" What a dipstick.

my favorite comment on that page is "polish police boarded the ship and wanted to know how many Americans it takes to..."

At least it was only a 240B, could have been a lot worse with anything bigger than 7.62. Anyways, it's amazing how many times this stuff happens...unreal, what happened to all the training?!?!

It seems every time we got to the range we hear about another retard that shot himself or the clearing barrel, and lucky for me Range Instructor is one of the jobs I could get after school.....:confused2:
This is wild, can't tell if its complacency or what. You know sometimes when you know your job too well, and it gets boring? That's when stuff like this happens, when you get comfortable and treat tasks like a machine.
Just sayin

I still just can't see this happening. How could you miss a freakin ammo belt hanging out of the gun before you pulled the trigger????

There is never an excuse for a negligent discharge. Hopefully the person responsible gets reprimanded!
